As the sun barely peeks over the horizon, I’m already reviewing the day’s service appointments at Brian & Sons headquarters. The dispatch board is filling up with furnace repair calls, which isn’t surprising given the recent cold snap.
First Call – 8:00 AM
After loading up the service van with essential parts and tools, I head to our first customer of the day. It’s a routine maintenance check on a 10-year-old furnace. These preventative services are crucial for keeping heating systems running efficiently through the winter months.
Mid-Morning Challenge – 10:30 AM
An emergency call comes in – a family with no heat. These are always our priority cases. After diagnosing the issue, I find a faulty ignitor that needs immediate replacement. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing the relief on a customer’s face when their heating system roars back to life.
Lunch Break – 12:15 PM
A quick lunch in the van while updating service records and checking the afternoon schedule. One thing about working at Brian & Sons is that we’re always on the move.
Afternoon Schedule – 1:00 PM
The afternoon involves:
– Two furnace inspections
– One filter replacement
– One consultation for a potential furnace replacement
End of Day – 5:30 PM
Before heading home, I ensure all paperwork is complete and the van is restocked for tomorrow. Every day brings different challenges, but helping people stay warm and comfortable makes it all worthwhile.
